Charter Tells Time Warner Cable Office Employees to Dress Nicer

STAMFORD, Conn. (KMOX) — Some of Charter Communications’ newest employees are no doubt experiencing culture shock.

Workers for Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks are being told by their new bosses that the casual days are over — no more jeans, telecommuting, or ducking out early on a nice, sunny Friday.

Charter, whose longtime headquarters was in west St. Louis County, just completed its $71 billion acquisition of the two cable competitors.

Time Warner Cable used to let employees work longer hours earlier in the week and leave early on Fridays in the summer.

No more.

In an internal memo, Charter human resources executive Paul Marchand says he wants to “align” new employees with existing corporate practices. He adds that “perception matters.”
