Charter to move some Time Warner employees to Stamford

STAMFORD — Cable-provider Charter Communications will relocate some of its employees now based in Manhattan to its Stamford headquarters by the end of the year, as it aims to consolidate operations in Connecticut.

“It’s a small number of the total number of Charter employees located in New York City who had worked for Time Warner Cable,” Charter spokeswoman Maureen Huff said Wednesday.

Huff declined to specify how many employees would move to Stamford from the Time Warner Center offices at Columbus Circle. All of the relocated workers will be housed at Charter’s headquarters at 400 Atlantic St., Huff said.

Huff would not say how many Charter employees now work at the Time Warner Center or the size of the company’s footprint in that location. The New York Post has reported that Time Warner Cable operated there with about 350 employees across 75,000 square feet.

Charter closed last month on a $55 billion acquisition of the company, also taking over its Time Warner Center lease, which expires at the end of this year.
